The following statements outline the legal and governance framework applicable to all certification activities, registry entries, and public representations.
1. Certification Disclaimer
GMT certification validates documented institutional systems and governance controls within a defined scope at the time of evaluation.
Certification:
- Does not replace national or local regulatory authority
- Does not constitute a license to practice
- Does not guarantee individual clinical outcomes
- Does not represent endorsement of individual practitioners
- Applies only to the defined scope listed in the certification record
Certification is contingent upon continued compliance and may be suspended, expired, or revoked in accordance with GMT policies.
2. Verification Policy
Certification status may be verified exclusively through the GMT Public Registry.
Official verification is valid only when:
- The institution appears in the Registry
- Certification status is listed as Active
- The validity period has not expired
Any representation of certification outside the defined scope or beyond the validity period constitutes misrepresentation.

3. Seal Usage Policy
Certified institutions are authorized to display the GMT Certification Seal corresponding to their awarded level only during the active certification period.
The Seal:
- Must not be altered, modified, or redesigned
- Must not be used outside the approved certification scope
- Must not imply endorsement beyond certification determination
- Must not be used after certification expiration or revocation
Unauthorized use of the GMT Seal may result in formal enforcement action and legal remedies where applicable.
4. Code of Ethical Conduct
GMT certification activities are governed by principles of:
Independence
Free from commercial influence
Impartiality
Equal treatment of all applicants
Documentation-Based
Decisions on evidence only
Conflict Disclosure
Mandatory transparency
Transparency
Clear determination processes
Certified institutions are expected to maintain ethical conduct in marketing, patient communication, and public representation of certification status.
5. Conflict of Interest Statement
GMT maintains internal procedures to identify and manage potential conflicts of interest in certification determinations.
Evaluation committee members and technical reviewers are required to disclose material conflicts prior to participation in review processes.
Certification determinations are conducted independently of commercial healthcare providers.
6. Data Protection and Confidentiality
GMT maintains confidentiality of submitted institutional documentation in accordance with applicable data protection principles.
Confidential materials submitted during evaluation:
- Are used solely for certification determination
- Are not publicly disclosed without authorization
- Are protected through administrative and technical safeguards
Public registry information is limited to certification status, scope, level, and validity period.
7. Limitation of Liability
GMT certification reflects documented institutional systems at the time of evaluation.
GMT shall not be held liable for:
- Clinical outcomes
- Individual practitioner performance
- Regulatory violations occurring after certification
- Operational changes not disclosed to GMT
Certification does not create a partnership, agency, or joint venture relationship between GMT and certified institutions.
8. Jurisdiction and Governing Framework
Certification activities and institutional policies are governed by applicable international compliance principles and relevant jurisdictional frameworks.
Any disputes arising from certification determinations shall be addressed in accordance with defined internal review procedures prior to external action.
9. Policy Amendments
GMT reserves the right to update institutional policies and certification standards to reflect evolving governance practices, regulatory developments, and operational requirements.
Updated policies become effective upon publication.
